2026 Pride Sponsorships

Following the fabulous response to our expanded 2025 Pride Sponsorship program, our diocese has increased our investment in this ministry. We have committed $15,500 for direct parish pride ministry support in 2026.

In 2026, the Episcopal Diocese of the Great Lakes is offering 31, $500 sponsorships specifically for Pride Month (June) ministry and outreach efforts. These will be granted to qualified applicants on a first come, first served basis.

Each parish is limited to one application, so make sure that you chat with other leaders in your parish before applying so that everyone is working together on the same page! Last year, we offered the option of partnering with other parishes in your application, but because of the expanded funding pool, this year we recommend that parishes apply individually and then decide on their own if they'd like to combine resources to minister together.

The deadline to apply is April 15. However, sponsorship limits may be reached before that date, so parishes are encouraged to apply early! Sponsorship checks will be mailed by the first week of May.

What can we use sponsorship funds for?

Great question - thanks for asking! Sponsorship funds could be used

>> to pay for registration fees for local Pride parades or festivals >> for a tent, swag, or other goodies to help your presence at Pride festivals >> to purchase permanent welcoming signage or flags for your parish, >> to purchase books or screening rights for a relevant book or film study, >> to pay for a community dinner to honor local LGBTQ+ community leaders, or more!

Parishes are encouraged to think creatively and sustainably.

Goals of 2026 Pride Sponsorship Program

It is our goal that LGBTQ+ persons in all communities across our diocese are celebrated, affirmed and included as they experience the limitless, unconditional, and supportive love of Jesus.

It is our goal that all parishes - including and especially rural, older parishes - in our diocese are equipped to engage in meaningful ministry with and for the LGBTQ+ community without cultural or financial barriers.
