Diocesan Convention III - Reports

How Firm a Foundation: The Third Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of the Great Lakes

One of the functions of our Diocesan Convention is to “[r]eceive, order filed, or reject reports of officers and other instrumentalities” [II.3.5(i)].

To that end, all diocesan bodies, ministries, and entities (including and especially those which are included in the 2026 diocesan budget) should submit a report to the Diocesan Convention about their activities in the past year.

The length of the report is up to you. It's a digital booklet, so we're less bound by space. However, of course, the more brief the report is, the more likely people are to read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest it. Also, keep in mind that some people do print the full booklet and, even though most people will access it digitally only, the larger a digital file is, the more water it takes to cool it in some data center somewhere. A lack of brevity has an environmental impact. Be a good steward of your time, words, and God's Creation.

Please submit only one report per entity.

Ministry/Body

Write a brief description of the ministry and, if it's new this year, some background on how/why it came to be.

Length Guidance: 2-3 sentences

Write a brief, high-level report of activities related to this ministry in the year since the previous convention and the impact of the work.

This section composes the bulk of your report. If you received funds from the diocesan budget, be sure to include how funds were used and the impact of the work. Additionally, if your ministry funding came, even in part, from an external source to the diocesan budget, please note that, too. Be sure that, in some place, you name/acknowledge/thank any lay or clergy leaders who were involved. If it's a large ministry, it's OK to only list primary leadership persons.

If desired, you may submit up to one photo to accompany your report.
